Join us Friday, September 19th, 2014 for a special evening of music, mirth and the mystery of whisky as Children’s Music Fund welcomes whisky writer and expert Rob Gard for an exclusive whisky tasting event. Rob will take you on a journey through the world of whisk(e)y from the backroads of Kentucky to the hills of Ireland, the streams of Scotland to the islands of Japan.
You will learn how whisk(e)y is made, the differences between whiskies from each country sampled, how to drink whisk(e)y and why sometimes that pesky “e” is before the “y” and why it’s not at other times.
The Children’s Music Fund’s mission is to provide Music Therapy and Musical Instruments to children with life altering conditions. Proceeds from from this event will help expand our program to more local children and hospitals.
Robert L. Gard is a former Los Angeles newspaper editor and a respected whisky expert, Rob’s columns and reviews have appeared in Whisky Magazine, Patterson’s Beverage Journal, and The Tasting Panel. He also writes for his own website, whiskyguyrob.com. Rob’s pieces have been described as “writing beyond the liquid.”
